Data recovery in Leicester, Southampton, Edinburgh and Newcastle

In this post we review questions from people looking for data recovery services in Leicester, Southampton, Edinburgh and Newcastle. Data Clinic Ltd have offices in all of these locations.

Dropped hard drive

Hard drive dropped on floor Leicester

Hard-drive fell to the floor many years ago and although it did power on, it was no longer detectable by any computers. I probably have a whole load of useless things on there, but what I am most interested in trying to salvage is all the pictures I had stored on there. May have been stored only as part of the macOS TimeMachine feature but unsure. I am closest to the Data Clinic office in Leicester and can call in in necessary.

Hard drive accidentally fell Southampton

My external hard drive recently accidentally fell off the side of my desk, onto the radiator and when plugging it back in, started making a beeping sound every other second. From what I’ve read online and on your website, it says it is likely the spindle. I was wondering if you could take a look and hopefully fix this, as it has a lot of important files? Southampton is the nearest location, however it is still over an hour away. I was wondering, if you did a delivery option? To mail damaged items to you, and then mail back to the user?

Home server recovery Edinburgh

My home server has 4 drives and 2 have failed when I moved it. I would like to recover the data but it is not the end of the world if I can’t. Can you let me know the costs. I am based in Edinburgh Scotland. The server is a HP DL160G6 running VMware 5.5.

Hard drive platter swap Newcastle

I’ve got a 1TB H2T1000854S 2.5″ which stopped being deteced by Windows 10 after a book struck the HDD whilst switched off. The HDD would turn on, it would make a buzzing noise as if the reader heads had failed. I live in Newcastle and purchased a replacement (same model and firmware) and initially swapped the PCB board. This did not fix the problem and swapped the PCBs back. I then swapped the platter without removing the heads (like in this video: ) now the hard drive makes a noise as if the hard drive is unable to read from the platter here is my video of the noise ( ) I think the platter may have become mis-aligned not really sure. Anyways, could you please let me know if this is something you can fix and how much it will cost to have the data recovered, if possible.

Windows won’t load

We have a SSD that had Windows & the system and the users profile on it, then the machine booted and said no Windows to load.
When putting disk in a different PC as a 2nd disk it picked it up in the BIOS, but then on the other PC it didn’t auto show as a separate drive to browse Windows.
Took a look in Disk Management it popped up and wanted to initialise it. We of course cancelled out at this point.
A user has a folder they want back from their users profile path. I’m hoping to pop into a Data Clinic and have my files recovered.
